[quote="Ambassador2"]Is there a prison chess committee in existence? I
can’t find a prison chess committee. I spent 18 months in a federal
prison only to have the charges against me dismissed, and I played
some good chess in jail. Please direct me to the prison chess
committee if you know of one.

Thanks

We have been wondering were you were.

Actually we thought you were in a place like that.

That you were "locked up" somewhere, there was no doubt, but we were
sure it was in a place with padded walls.....

Actually, there are a huge number of prisoners who play chess.
Probably most prisoners know the legal moves of chess. Of course the
reason is they have a lot of time on their hands.

San Quentin Prison used to have a team in the Bay Area Industrial
League. They had several masters on their team, some nearing the 2400
level. They won the league championship almost every year. All of
their league matches had to be played "at home".

I know of one grandmaster strength player who is said to be in prison
right now serving a long sentence and a strong master who just got out
recently.

There must be a way to use this resource.
